YOUTH OF TODAY

Positive Youth Crew brotherhood, hooded sweatshirts, X'd-up fists, vegetarian ethics, and stage dives so thick the band can barely stand on stage.

Formed in Danbury, Connecticut and New York City in 1985 by vocalist Ray Cappo and guitarist John 'Porcell' Porcelly, co-founding Revelation Records with Jordan Cooper.Joined by Walter Schreifels and Sammy Siegler for 'We're Not in This Alone' (1988), Youth of Today spearheaded the international Youth Crew straight-edge hardcore revival.

The ultimate creative bridge between 1980s NYHC Youth Crew and 1990s post-hardcore. After playing bass in Youth of Today and writing Gorilla Biscuits' landmark 'Start Today' LP at age 19, Walter fronted Quicksand ('Slip', 1993) and Rival Schools ('United by Fate', 2001), reshaping heavy melodic rock.
